Automated orbital welding succeeds or fails on the smoothness of its travel path. Vermaat Technics travel bands wrap tightly around the pipe to form a rigid, low-friction track that allows the welding bug to position itself exactly where required. Because every band is engineered and manufactured entirely in-house, we control quality at each step, from raw-material selection to final inspection, and can tailor the solution to any outside diameter upwards from 5 inch.
Each travel band begins as a flat piece of sheet metal that gets laser cut on our state of the art laser machine. Precision-machined stand-offs keep the band clear of pipe coatings, while balanced geometry eliminates vibration so weld beads remain uniform.
Although optimised for our own Veraweld bugs, Vermaat Technics travel bands can be adapted—through minor modifications or full custom design—to work seamlessly with other orbital welding, coating or inspection machines.
